10 Spiritual Awakening Symptoms | Spiritual Development
At some point during this particular physical life, there is a very high chance and probability that you will experience some sort of spiritual awakening.
This spiritual awakening could be early on in life, or it could be later on in life. There is no set ‘time’ or no specific ‘event’ behind a spiritual awakening. It can come at any time.
Having said that, some people start their spiritual awakening after experiencing the loss of a loved one. Or perhaps during times of high-stress.
The mechanism by which a spiritual awakening is triggered will vary from person to person.
Some people may follow the spiritual path for the rest of their physical lives. Others, will only follow the path for a short period of time before reverting back into the slumber of uncertainty.
But how can you ‘identify’ when your spiritual awakening has started?
The following points may be of some assistance to you:
- Feeling as though your life has changed forever
A spiritual awakening is a very turbulent and emotional time, but a spiritual awakening is followed by a completely new understanding and perspective on life.
Your own life WILL change forever, as the veil is lifted from your spiritual eye. The illusion of what is regarding as ‘reality’ will become clear to you.
- Uncertainty and fear
During a spiritual awakening, the feelings which you encounter and which you experience may cause you to feel uncertain about what is happening and may also lead you to ‘fear’ the feelings which you are having.
During such times, it is important to spend time with other spiritually minded people and to spend as much time as you can in quiet and contemplative meditation.
I have started a Group on Facebook where spiritual students can interact with each other in a safe environment (see below).
- No longer liking what you once liked to do
For the spiritual student, material gain becomes less appealing.
You are less likely to become motivated in life to buy the most expensive handbag, buy the most expensive car or build the biggest house.
Whilst earning a living is still important, you will feel less motivated to chase material objects.
Instead, you will have a thirst for truth and understand and your relationship with God will become more personal and much more profound.
- Extreme desire for solitude
As you breach through the veil, you will be more likely to want to spend time on your own in a physical sense.
This is normal. You will also find that you desire less to be around those around you who are still occupied with the illusion of material gain.
Spending time by yourself is good, but it is important also to ensure that the connections with those around you who you love and who love you, is maintained.
- Feeling greater empathy for others
The Spiritual student will start to feel the emotions of others. They will be able to ‘read’ people’s emotions and thus will be able to feel their pain.
It is therefore important for the spiritual student to again spend time meditating in order to process such feelings and to replenish ones own spiritual energy.
There will be those around you who will ‘feed’ off of your spiritual energy because they are yet to have a spiritual awakening, but have a strong desire to acquire spiritual balance.
- More experiences of synchronicity
The more spiritually aware you become, the more you will be able to discern the synchronicities which occur around you.
Synchronicities are still sent to the student who is yet to ‘awaken’ but they are less likely to notice them.
- Becoming more sensitive
As you walk further along the spiritual path, you will start to become more sensitive. This is one of the reasons as to why spiritual students seek out solitude.
You will starts to ‘absorb’ the energies of those around you and this is why it is important to surround yourself with loving, genuine and sincere people.
- Going through bouts of anxiety and depression
It is common for the spiritual student to feel anxious and to feel depressed. This physical planet is not our natural home. And because of the sins of those who came before us, our planet is spiritually isolated from the vast, vast spiritual networks and celestial circuits.
Thus you might feel like you are in an emotional ‘war zone’.
With so much anger, so much hate and so much violence around us, then it is natural that we, as spiritual students, will have bouts of depression and anxiety.
Again, during such times, it is important to spend time with like-minded spiritual students and to spend less time consuming the constant stream of negative news stories which plague the internet.
- Asking questions such as “Why am I here?” and “What is my life purpose?”
Whether you are a spiritual student or not, then at some point, these questions will naturally be pondered.
The answers WILL come in due time.
But you must be patient and you should also desire to learn as much as possible from spiritual teachers who can help you find the path that leads to such answers.
- Thirst for truth and spiritual self-fulfillment
The quest for truth, is at the heart of each and every students desire to understand more about their surroundings, both the ‘seen’ and the ‘unseen’.
You will not find ALL truths during this physical life. But your journey towards spiritual truth will be initiated ‘here’.
You will also perhaps desire to find more inner fulfilment. But this will come with your spiritual progress as a spiritual student.
I have also written an eBook (below) that is intended to act as a companion for anyone who is now conscious of their spiritual journey in this physical world:
